25 years full of ideas, commitment and passion

Guillaume Hopfner is celebrating his 25th anniversary at Braunform. His impressive career has been characterized by innovation, team spirit and constant change.

His career began in 1999, when he first came into contact with injection molds after completing his diploma thesis at a Braunform customer. Impressed by the quality and precision, he applied for a job at Braunform. He started in the production department: Polishing, laser engraving and especially assembly - under the patient guidance of experienced colleagues. Without access to the Internet, the Frenchman made a daily note of unfamiliar technical terms and translated them in the evening with the help of a dictionary in order to continue the exchange the next day.

In 2001, Guillaume Hopfner switched to the design department and initially worked with a 2D system, later designing injection molds independently in 3D. As a design engineer, he played a key role in the introduction of the 3D system still in use today and took over its system administration. After becoming deputy design manager in 2004, he took over the management position 3 years later. In 2016, he successfully completed the “WVIB Management College” training course and has been strengthening the management team as a manager ever since. In 2021, he was granted power of attorney and is still responsible for development and design to this day.

Thanks to his technological expertise, he was involved in product development, the introduction of Moldflow simulations, patent work and the structuring of engineering as an independent service department in addition to tool design. A particular highlight was his responsibility for the implementation of a PDM/PLM system - a milestone in the digitalization of company processes. His versatility is also evident in his involvement in cross-departmental projects, technical processes and close cooperation with customers from all over Europe. In addition to his professional expertise, Guillaume Hopfner is also active in sports: whether at “Rad am Ring”, “Mein Freiburg Marathon” or regional volleyball and tennis tournaments - he is always a committed team player.
