30 Years at Braunform: Wolfgang Locher Celebrates His Work Anniversary

Braunform GmbH congratulates Wolfgang Locher on his 30th work anniversary. Since joining the company on August 12, 1996, he has played an active role in shaping its development. Today, as Production Manager for Mold Making, he is responsible for a key area of value creation at Braunform.

Wolfgang Locher began his career at Braunform in 1996 while pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at the DHBW. After successfully completing his studies, he initially supported the design department before taking over as head of manufacturing in 2000. In this role, he has shaped numerous developments within the company. Since 2018, Wolfgang Locher has also served as an instructor for DHBW students in technical degree programs.

Anyone starting at Braunform today will find a modern work environment with digitally networked processes, high occupational safety standards, and a leadership culture based on mutual respect. When Wolfgang Locher began at Braunform in 1996, computers and CAD systems were already on the rise. Nevertheless, many processes were still much more heavily influenced by personal experience, direct coordination, and manual labor than they are today. It was not until the following years that the comprehensive digitization of processes and manufacturing developed into a central component of the workplace. Leadership was also much more direct, and expectations regarding commitment and flexibility were high.

“We sometimes had to report for work on three Saturdays a month. That was the order, and there was no room for discussion,” recalls Wolfgang Locher. When a tool had to be finished, we worked until the task was complete—often from early in the morning until late in the evening.

Despite the significantly different conditions at the time, team cohesion, dedication, and a pioneering spirit shaped the company’s culture. These are qualities that many employees of that generation brought with them, thereby laying the foundation for the company’s success today.

“Wolfgang Locher has been part of Braunform’s development for three decades and has made important contributions to the growth of our company in various roles. His technical expertise and many years of experience remain valuable assets to our organization to this day,” emphasizes Pamela Braun, owner and managing director of Braunform GmbH.

Commercial Director Oliver Bornhäuser also pays tribute to the honoree: “Wolfgang Locher has guided the transition from predominantly manual processes to modern, digitally supported manufacturing. In doing so, he has witnessed numerous changes in organization, work methods, and leadership culture, and his experience has contributed significantly to our continuous development.”

Wolfgang Locher is active and adventurous in his personal life as well. He spends a lot of time in his own garden with his wife. He also enjoys traveling around Europe in his RV, discovering new regions and cultures. The joy of creativity that defines him professionally also accompanies him in his free time.
